Syed Ali

|
Syed Ali belongs to Ghanche in Northern Areas and was born on
October 18, 1986. He completed his A-levels and is currently a
student of law. Syed Ali has performed the responsibilities of
coordinator for the student council during his A-levels in his
school. Apart from a focus on his studies, he has been
participating in different extra-curricular activities
including debates and essay competitions. He was also selected
for South Asian Undergraduate Student Leaders programme at
Dickinson College, Pennsylvania by the United States Education
Foundation Pakistan. Syed Ali also writes on issues such as
human Rights, youth activism and education in various
newspapers. He is a volunteer with United Nations, a member of
Pakistan British Law Council and Green Peace Cyber Activist
Community. His areas of interest include Women Development,
Law and Youth Affairs. |

Afzal Khan Shinwari

Afzal Khan Shinwari belongs to District Kohat in NWFP. He was
born on December 30, 1979. His academic career includes
O'levels and intermediate from Peshawar, a Bachelor of Science
degree in Computer Science from FAST and a Masters in Business
Administration with a major in Marketing from Lahore
University of Management Sciences. As a student, he was
actively involved in university societies and clubs. He is
also a scholarship holder by ministry of science and
technology. Currently he is working in the marketing side at
Paktel. Previously he has worked for two years in the field of
Information Technology. Afzal Shinwari has also participated
in national and international conferences . His major areas of
interests include Telecommunications, Interior Affairs and
Foreign affairs. |

Muhammad Nawaz

Muhammad Nawaz belongs to District Peshawar. He was born on
December 25, 1982. He has graduated from the University of
Peshawar in Law and Political Science and is currently
pursuing a Masters degree in political science. He is also
working as president of a local NGO, Rural Community Relief
Organization. Previously, he has worked with the Islamic
Academy Peshawar as an English Language teacher. Active in
areas relating to youth and youth affairs, Muhammad Nawaz is
also a member of the Youth Forum, a project of the British
council. Muhammad Nawaz is politically affiliated with
Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian. Harbouring political
ambitions, Muhammad Nawaz plans to take part in next local
government election. His areas of interest include Education,
Interior Affairs, Law, Women Development and Youth Affairs. |

Nida Khan

Nida Khan belongs to District Mardan. She was born on March
27, 1982. She has completed one year of M.Phil in Anthropology
from Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad. Nida Khan has earlier
obtained a MBA in Finance with distinction from Bahria
University Islamabad and MSc Sociology from Allama Iqbal Open
University. She has been class representative throughout her
university period. She has also been awarded Bahria
University's scholarship. Nida received a Silver Medal for
standing Second in All Pakistan Naat Competition also. She has
worked in the development sector also including the Delegates
of Danish Red Crescent. In 2005, she was selected as an intern
to work with the Parliament under the Parliamentary Internship
Programme by PILDAT. Her fields of interests include Youth
Affairs, Women Development and Education. |

Ommar Hayat Abbasi

|
Ommar Hayat Abbasi belongs to District Abbottabad. He was born
on October 20, 1982. Ommar holds a Masters degree in Defence &
Strategic Studies from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. He
has worked with Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR)
previously and is currently working with Pakistan Institute of
Legislative Development And Transparency (PILDAT). Ommar has
won many National and International debates and quizz
competitions including 5th SAARC Quiz. He is also a debater
while he has represented Pakistan in various youth
delegations. A prolific writer, Ommar contributes to
newspapers and journals. He has also worked to organise
various events such as All Pakistan Youth Convention and
Commonwealth Youth Celebrations hosted by Pakistan. His fields
of interest include Religious Affairs, Youth Affairs and
Foreign Affairs. |

Rafi Ullah Khan

|
Rafi Ullah Khan was born on July 03, 1982. He belongs to
District Dir. He is a student of MBBS at Saidu Medical
College, Swat. Earlier, Rafi Ullah Khan completed his
Matriculation from Swat Public School and passed his
intermediate examinations from Islamia College, Peshawar. He
is also a winner of the National Talent scholarship. Rafi
Ullah Khan has also been nominated for Global Youth Exchange
Programme organised by the British Council. He has also
participated in Youth visit to China organized by the
Government of Pakistan. Rafi Ullah has worked as a volunteer
and also participated in walks against Aids, Hepatitis and
pollution. He has worked with American Medical Students in
July 2006 during their visit to Pakistan sponsored by the
Pakistani-American Organization APPNA. He is a member of the
National Volunteer Movement as well as a member of the Child
Labour Prevention Society. His fields of interest include
Foreign Affairs, Youth Affairs and Education. |

Sidra Tariq

Sidra Tariq belongs to District Mansehra. She was born on
August 14, 1984. Sidra has completed her Bachelor of Arts
degree from Islamabad College for Girls and is a student of
International Relations at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad.
She has won over 200 prizes throughout her educational career
in different disciplines. In extra-curricular activities,
Sidra has held the office of Secretary (Music), Secretary
(Fine Arts), Vice President and President of the Students
Council of Islamabad College for Girls. She had also been
declared as the “Best Student of the College” for consecutive
two years. Sidra was also awarded Roll of Honour by the Punjab
University. Active in youth affairs, Sidra has been part of
youth forums and conferences organised by the Friedrich
Naumann Stiftung foundation and the Liberals Youth Forum.
Sidra’s fields of interest include Foreign Affairs, Education

Tariq Salam

Tariq Salam was born on October 03, 1982 and belongs to
District Lakki Marwat. He completed his Bachelor of Arts from
Islamia College Peshawar in 2002 and then joined Quaid-i-Azam
University, Islamabad, from where he obtained his masters
degree in International Relations in 2005. He is currently
working as an Assistant Controller of Examinations at Kohat
University of Science and Technology. A bright student,Tariq
has been awarded gold medals both in his masters and bachelors
degrees. He has served as the Secretary General of Islamian
Student Council, Peshawar during his stay at the college while
he was also awarded a roll of honour. He also held the
position of Senior Vice President of International Relations
department at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. Tariq is a
member of the Japanese South Asian Youth Forum since 2003 and
is also affiliated with Shaheen Youth Welfare Society as a
joint secretary since 2001. His major areas of interest are
Foreign Affairs, Youth Affairs and Education. |

Abdul Ghaffar

Abdul Ghaffar belongs to District Khanewal. He was born on
January 1, 1985. He has completed his graduation from
Bahauddin Zakria University Multan in European History &
Sociology. He is currently a student of Defence & Strategic
Studies at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. Abdul Ghaffar
is a Vice President of the DSS Society, a member of
Quaid-i-Azam Literary Society and also a Member of Adventure
Club. He is very interested in International Relations and
Pakistan's decision making structure and for this reason he
has enrolled himself in Defence and Strategic Studies masters
programme. Political issues, education, law & order situation,
religious affairs and women development are the fields which
interest him as he believes these issues are related to the

Ajmal Shah Din

Ajmal Shah Din was born on March 04, 1978. He belongs to
District Okara. Ajmal Shah Din got his bachelors degree from
Okara. Currently working in the electronic media, Ajmal Shah
Din has worked as a columnist, bureau chief, editor, chief
editor and executive editor of different print and electronic
media organisations. He considers it an achievement to
introduce safeguards for the intellectual property rights of
the writers and columnists from South Asia through his
organisation Right Vision Advertising. He has been very active
in journalists' politics too and is a member of the governing
body of Electronic Media Reporters’ Association, Lahore as
well as in-charge Secretary General of Pakistan Union of
Journalists, Lahore since 2000. |
